The first iPhone came out over eight years ago and the market of smartphones exploded. The debate on Android versus Apple is fierce. And buyer’s remorse is real. You get what you want and then are upset when something else comes out that is “better.” So what is the perfect smartphone?

Since the announcement of the new iPad Pro and the fact You can buy a stylus/pencil to go with it, there has been a Steve jobs quote flying around that would make anyone believe Steve must be rolling in his grave:
If you see a stylus, they blew it.
At first glance you can’t come to any other conclusion than Steve jobs hated styli completely and thought they were a waste of space. How on earth could be want such a thing on his beloved iPad. That’s certainly the impression many tech journalists, some Apple fans and people who hate all things Apple have been saying.
Mobile devices are taking over the world. Maybe not literally, but I feel like many of us in the technology world for churches are not doing a great job of keeping up. Many churches now have a mobile responsive site. Good, welcome to 2012.
But what about your images and videos you post on social media? I’m not going to try to read that tiny text you add to them on my phone. No thanks. What about your emails with tons of text I have to scroll through or formatted for a computer that looks awful on my phone? Pass.

“What’s the most difficult aspect of being a pastor?” The answer to that question truly depends on the minister, their personality and skills, along with the make-up and maturity of their congregation. However, I think that most pastors would agree that shepherding the flock is right up there, in their top three “most difficult aspects,” if not the top spot. Personally, shepherding is tough. It’s not a part of my natural skill-set, which is good because it forces me to depend more on God, but also exhausting.
Thankfully, the overworked and under-organized pastor just might find a well-needed ally in the iPad. To that end, here are a few ways that an iPad can help you be a better shepherd.

I recently began my third semester of graduate studies at Freed-Hardeman University where I am enrolled in the Master of Arts in New Testament program which requires at least four semesters of Greek. Being the self-proclaimed technology nerd and Greek geek that I am, I went on a mad search for whatever apps I could find to help. You must understand one thing about me though, not only am I a technology nerd, I am a cheap technology nerd. I don’t like paying for stuff if at all possible.
I was determined to find a nice bundle of apps for my iPad and my Galaxy S4 phone that would assist me in my studies. Yes, you can pay a few dollars for an app that shows up first in the store, or you can do a little research and find a free app (or hold out until the app goes free for a while), or you can check out this list of apps that I am presenting you with.
Here are the Greek study apps I use regularly. All were free when I downloaded them and should should still be free.
