Owlegories: A Christ-Centered Storybook App for Kids

You can tell a lot about an artist by what he creates.

That is the theme behind the recently released storybook app Owlegories, available for free on the iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. Owlegories is an interactive digital storybook app that teaches kids about God through the amazing things found in nature and revealed in God’s word. The banner verse for Owlegories is Psalm 19:1-4:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

Horizon – Say Goodbye to Vertical iPhone Videos

Is it just me, or do videos that are shot vertically annoying?

Well, there’s an app for that. Horizon will always make sure your videos are being recorded horizontally. This not only will keep you from being THAT GUY, but gives some unique creative possibilities.

Sunrise Calendar App – for iCloud, Google Calendar, Evernote, Asana and MORE!

Sunrise is a calendar app that syncs with iCloud and multiple Google Calendars, along with some other really cool features.

As someone who stays organized using multiple Google Calendars, this solution fits; but Sunrises other features will be sure to please.

While the Prayer Notebook app is my favorite for private personal prayer, Instapray would be ranked first when it comes to community based prayer apps.

Instapray is a delightful mix of social network and prayer.

Use YouVersion for Interactive Sermons (Almost)

I was set to kickoff our sermon series on Romans this semester, and we realized we wanted a more interactive method for handling questions & answers that we couldn’t get to Live. Since half the room at our University focused church is using YouVersion’s Bible app on their Android or iOS devices, we figured it was a good chance to kick the tires of YouVersion’s Live Events feature.

It’s been around since 2009 or so, but we hadn’t used it.
