I was sent a link to this iPhone app the other day and chuckled a couple times before I took a look at it in the store.
The “Ask God” iphone app has a pretty simple purpose:
Ask God is a fun, easy to use application, which allows users to look up Bible passages on contemporary topics with a simple shake of their iPhone.
Neat. I suppose the only problem that I have is that you have to purchase it first…

I guess the only thing that matters today on this day, June 7th, 2010 is the iPhone 4.
The WWDC 2010 is well under way and the iPhone 4 announcement has already been blasted around the world.
Let me be the first to admit that the money is already spent. I’ve put it on the calendar, June 15th, just 8 days from now, pre-ordering begins.
What about you? Will you be pre-ordering the iPhone 4 and all it’s awesomeness?
It is what it is.
I’m in my 5th year at Dallas Seminary and if there’s one thing that I’ve gotten out of it it’s this: Books, lots of them.
Which is great because I’ve come to terms with the fact that one of the most significant results of my education will not be an immense source of knowledge but a library that contains it.
So, where’s the “app for that”?

Caught wind of this the other day and I had to check it out: Guts Church (fantastic name, right?) announced it’s iPhone App that is specifically leveraging 316 Networks’ technology.
After going to http://www.gutschurch.com/mobile via your iPhone you can connect to the application directly (and then bookmark it for later use).

With the world focused on the amount of privacy controls an individual has (or hasn’t) it’s oftentimes good for body, mind, and soul to engage in an environment where there is no privacy by default.
I’m not against privacy controls generally speaking but I am against people acquiring an acute rash of tunnel vision that disables their ability to see the innovative ways that social engagement can occur via technological mediums and modes.
This one app his helping me breathe some of that “freedom” in again…

This weekend I realized how ridiculously cluttered my iPhone is with apps that I rarely use.
Seriously tragic.
Of the 40 or so apps that I have installed I probably use 4 to 5 of them daily and up to 8 of them weekly.
So on a “busy” week I might use 20% of the apps that I’ve got on there. Wow. What a waste!
