Recently, we took a look at John Dyer’s MediaElement.js project that attempts to solve the problem of browsers that don’t support newer HTML5 media technologies.
The plug-in is solid and requires nothing more than a including a few script tags to get started, but if you’re looking to include the library on your WordPress-based site or in your WordPress-based project, including it manually may be more cumbersome than necessary.
Fortunately, John recently packaged up his project into a WordPress plugin. Once downloaded:
- Drop the MediaElement-JS-WP folder into your plugins directory
- Activate the plugin via the WordPress Plugins menu
- Begin using the shortcodes throughout your site
Easy enough, right?
You can continue to follow the plugin development in the WordPress Plugin Directory.
