I remember when I got married that it was pretty obvious the “choice” for where we would have the wedding: The church that my wife and I met at.
But, for many the choice isn’t always that obvious or easy.
So where do you go? Do you search Google? Do you Bing it? (I hate that saying…)
Perhaps you need something like this site…
RentMyChurch.com is a simple service where you can find a local church for your event, whether it’s a conference, wedding, concert, etc.
You can search locally and see seating capacity and potential costs:
If you’re a church, you can easily register your site so that people can find it.
There’s a paid subscription model for that allows a few things like uploading photos and such:
I’m not sure I would have used it in my situation but I’m keeping it for reference for others – it may prove to be exceptionally useful!
Let me know if you actually use the service with some success!

I found myself kicking myself when I saw Rentmychurch.com. Incredible idea that I’ve needed for years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found myself searching for churches to host training events … this will be a big help. A lot of churches throughout the U.S. sit empty — this could be a great opportunity for event organizers and the church as well.

Brilliant!
This is perhaps more helpful for churches that want to rent out their facilities than people who are searching for venues & space to host their event. When someone is just looking for space to hold an event, they may not be restricted to looking for only churches. And I’d think that someone looking specifically for church space can use a basic Google search to find one. Where RentMyChurch comes in handy is a time-saver to know which church buildings are readily open and possibly available for rent. Kudos!
