Love this idea first found by Collide Magazine which shows Park Community Church hooking up visitors to their website with alternative locations to worship.
They don’t have to but they’re telling their visitors that Church and God and your spiritual walk is so much bigger than just them.
I love this. I think you should too.

This really is what the church should be about. Park Church provides a lot of volunteers to an after school program I work with, so I have some experience with the church (although I have never attended.) But that is something that I would think they would do from my experience with their volunteers. Need some more churches to step up to the plate and build the kingdom like this.

Impressive. What this says to me is that this is a church looking to truly help people connect to God. Think too about how this probably diffuses any tension felt by a visitor. What a great message to convey to people seeking a place to plugin.

totally. great stuff right?

I do LOVE it! First time I saw it was on @ChrisElrod's church @compasspoint's website. I love the notion of telling people that while we may not be the place God is leading you, there IS a place — let us help you find it.
Oh. Guess that means I need to do some work — Note to self: add local church links to @covechurch website.

cool!

But what if potential customers go to one of those churches instead of buying our product?

What’s sad is the names I know of pastors who think just like that. In fact, their names are:
Dangit, I just realized I don’t know how to do an unordered list in this comment system. I guess the names will have to wait.
human3rror says
hahah. gotcha.

This is really fantastic, and something I've done relationally for years as a pastor. Now if I could only get them to put "my list" on the website…
human3rror says
ah, getting it online… pass the red tape please.
Jim says
not if i'm recruiting for a church softball league…that's different!
@adamrshields says
Relationally is where this started. They partnered with many of these church to plant churches, do ministry and send their people to volunteer. This isn't a shot in the dark. These churches are there because there is a long term relationship. And many of them aren't exactly next door. Moody is about a mile away (but in the city that is pretty far). I know a couple more are 3 to 5 miles away. That does not minimize anything about Park doing this, but it does make it easier to put these churches on the list because they aren't necessarily seen as direct competition.

That's cool. I think too often we see the church around the corner as competition. Different strokes for different folks.

heck yes. this is exactly what every church's attitude should be. i worked for 8 years at a church that told every visitor that we'd love to have them, or help them find their church home. they fired me, but i love them for saying that over and over and over.

So good. Love it. Wish I'd thought of it. I think something like this would be great on our campus ministry website, pointing students to the various other ministries they could check out.
