Watch this great video that was captured nearly 4 years ago. In it, Jon Rappoport suggests that bloggers have much more to say about mainstream media than mainstream does about blogs.
I think there’s a definite parallel between what Jon describes as “mainstream” and the Church:
Do you feel like you’ve bumped up against this type of thinking? Do you think the ‘Church’ (generally speaking) has attempted to tell the ‘bloggers’ whether blogging is “good” or “bad” or what not?
I think blogging has enabled the masses to publicly proclaim their thoughts, feelings, and ideas about their Faith and perhaps their misgivings about the Church and I think that’s frightening to a number of “establishments.”
I wonder if it’s a “fear-based” issue. Your thoughts?

Sometimes, I just wish that pastors in my denom cared about what blogs are and how they can leverage their ministry. They don’t speak to what qualifies a blog or what doesn’t… even after teaching they say, “blog?”

I think people are totally threatened! I also think people are against blogs because they feel they can't blog. Whether or not you actually have your own blog doesn't mean that you should disregard the medium of blogging. I know people that have heard about Jesus more from a blog than by a church. They would never walk in the doors of church but they would go to one of their friends blogs and hear about Jesus!

blog from the Word, blog from the heart, blog to change lives!
