A recent report has stated that nearly 60% of the Android market is made up of free apps, as opposed to the 22% of the Apple market.
Of course, there’s a little back story here as Google has limited the release of apps in certain countries for payment, so that explains a lot.
But, I think it’ll impact the innovative ways that mobile businesses will attempt to monetize their applications, which in turn will help everyone think differently (and creatively) about their work.

Maybe I’m not reading this pic right… but from what I can see:
45% of all iPhone apps are free
29% of all Android apps are free
but maybe I’m not reading it right…
