Probably.
Right?
An interesting article that was brought to my attention the other day from BBC wrote this:
Creativity is akin to insanity, say scientists who have been studying how the mind works…
Creativity is uncomfortable. It is their dissatisfaction with the present that drives them on to make changes.Creative people, like those with psychotic illnesses, tend to see the world differently to most. It’s like looking at a shattered mirror. They see the world in a fractured way.
I definitely feel this at times but I don’t find myself exceptionally creative like a number of my peers. I suppose this means that I’m safe from being schizophrenic, right?
But perhaps we’re schizo for another reason – the fact that we do creative stuff in the context of ministry…?
Thoughts? Do you know of anyone personally that is definitely a creative and who’s textbook schizophrenic that’s in ministry?
Love to hear it. Read the rest of the article here.

I’ll post. I live with bipolar 2 and consider myself a creative in ministry. I could write about lots of things, so I’m not sure what to say here. Just wanted to volunteer myself as an example.
I don’t think it’s only schizophrenia that relates to creativity. I know several others who have various mental illnesses and also seem to be exceptionally creative. I know very few people with a mental illness that are creative in a ministry context. I’m not sure why, other than the way some “religious” people treat you when they find out you have a mental illness.
I’d be curious to know if others in ministry share my same struggles.

I agree. I’m partly this way. I know a few who are definitely this way, but I wouldn’t change them for nothing. At least for now…lol!
