What if Pinterest was real?
What if instead of “pinning” it was actually “stealing?”
Here’s a funny, and a little dark, video at what’s called, Pinsanity:

Is Pinterest healthy?
Is it just fun and games, or does it perpetuate want, coveting, greed and dissatisfaction with what we already have?
Thoughts?

I think that fundamentally mischaracterizes Pinterest.
People like something because they like it. My wife uses it for ideas about recipes and how to make things. I like to look at pictures, art and see what people are reading.
People that I talk to that use it, primarily are doing similar things.
I understand the charge that it creates desire. I think there is something to that and that can be unhealthy and sinful. But desire is not stealing. They are fundamentally different things.

It’s neutral, but like all neutral things, they can be used for good or bad.

I can see how it could create a sense of covetousness or greed in some people if they aren’t careful, but for most people that I know, it’s been a place to get ideas on things we like or want to do. I use mine for anything from craft idea, gift ideas, recipes, etc. I will never be able to do them all, but every so often I am able to pick up one of those ideas and implement it.

It’s like potato chips for me. You can just scroll and scroll and scroll … 😀
