With Amazon’s announcement of a new service to give their Prime Members commercial free streaming of 5,000+ movies and TV shows I almost feel like we’ve got another player amongst us for some serious media streaming.
Amazon.com, Inc. today announced the launch of a new benefit for Amazon Prime members: unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of more than 5,000 movies and TV shows.
This new benefit is being added at no additional cost — Prime membership will continue to be $79 per year. Amazon Prime’s all-you-can-eat free Two-Day Shipping has already attracted millions of members.
I’m a Prime User and so I’ll directly benefit from this new add-on and I’m not complaining. Nothing like a bit of good competition to keep Apple on their toes!
But I believe this to be just the start because once the channels open up for digital delivery could apps be far behind? Why not?
