A Chinese newspaper released some juicy information about the coming iPad 2 citing at least 5 new features of note:
The video-phone feature (probably FaceTime) is expected to benefit Apple iPad’s webcam suppliers, while iPad 2 may adopt smaller size panels featuring thinner glass.
The USB feature will allow the device to be more connection friendly, while Apple’s “Retina Display” technology will enhance image and color output performance. The 3-axis gyroscopes will enhance gaming, added the paper.
My wife and I were just talking about this, especially as it related to me actually getting one. She wisely shared with me that I would need to sell my first gen first.
She got me.
Will the iPad 2 move you to be an Apple customer? Do you typically wait for second gen products before buying?
Stephen Bateman says
Well, my first iPod was the fifth generation. Trying not to wait that long for an iPad.
“USB feature?” It’ll have a USB port? In my head it’s hard to go ubiquitous with a ‘productivity’ product that is as functionally restricted from connecting easily.
Travis Fish says
I have been waiting for the 2nd Gen iPad since it released. I’m normally a 2nd Gen person. 😀
Joey Bergeron says
Waiting on Second Gen iPad. USB and WebCam are a must. I have not purchased the First Gen due to the lack of connectivity features. I want to have it as a laptop replacement and would love to be able to use a USB drive to have images and documents to push and pull to so that I can share things to others without the need for the cloud. Once the 2nd gen hits I’ll surely snag one.
