Microsoft has developed a technology that allows you to load batteries in any direction. What’s the name? Instaload!
… Seriously? Yes:
The technology is in the mechanical battery contact design. Each side of the metal contacts in a device have positive and negative points, rather than just a positive or negative point.
The technology works with most barrel-type batteries, so your AA, AAA, C and D batteries are all compatible. It also doesn’t matter whether the batteries are rechargeable or not.
Awesome. I just wish the logo (and name) were just as awesome:
That logo hurts my eyes! But, I can forgive you because the idea behind it is so genius.
Stephen Bateman says
When it all comes down to it, Microsoft really does make our lives better.
Now lets hope they find a way so that all battery-driven devices can use it for free!
James Brooks says
Does this have ANY legitimate benefit?
