This is neat: IDE One is a web application that allows you to write code in approximately 40 different programming languages and then have the code execute in your browser:
You can check out some of the recent pastes that users have pushed or even experiment with the public API.
Practically speaking, I see this as something that can be used to test certain functions, share code via the public page, and to simply experiment with other languages.
Still, love seeing the gap between client-side and server-side close just a little bit more with stuff like this.

I heart the idea of social coding. This seems like another great tool to accomplish that.
The technology seems pretty impressive too. 50 languages in-browser? EPIC.
