When it comes to page design – or UI design for that matter – developers are not known for our skills in this area.
Of course, that doesn’t stop us from continually putting content on the web that makes designers hate us.
If we’re going to do it, perhaps we should take a few strides in the right direction by attempting to make it look like we know what we’re doing.
GridFox for Firefox is a great add-on for just that.
GridFox is a Firefox add-on for providing a simple grid overlay on top of the page that you’re viewing or on which you’re working.
It has support for changing the number of columns, gutter sizes, column sizes, and for saving your configuration.
This probably isn’t going to help us make excellent designers, but perhaps it will move us one step forward from where we currently are (and that would be a #win, right? :)).
Jared Erickson says
I can always tell when a project only had enough money for the development.
