Google has purchased a 1.9 billion building in New York City, at 111 Eighth Avenue and it sits on top of the internet super-highway:
As it happens, the structure sits almost directly on top of where the Hudson Street/Ninth Avenue fiber highway makes a dog-leg to the right before heading north-east toward the Upper West Side.
In New York, fiber-optic cables travel in large bundles underneath the asphalt.
Now that’s some sweet office space. It’s got an elevator so large as to fit an 18-wheel semi-truck!
Obviously, they are in a hiring frenzy with 2,000+ jobs available. Go get one.
