I’ve been an Android user for a few weeks now and the one thing I have missed the most hasn’t been a physical keyboard (though I do miss it). I just didn’t realize how much I use the Kindle app! This week Amazon made good on it’s promise and released version 1.0 of Kindle for Android.
Hold the phone, a few things are notably missing.

Kindle eBooks are still DRMed and this is a bummer. On the plus-side, however, you can read them on nearly all consumer-level computing devices. Which is a break from the Apple model of locking consumers into a highly restricted hardware ecosystem.
All in all, a solid first version offering. This one promises to be one of my most used apps!
