I love Hulu.com but there’s always been something “missing” for me.
In fact, much of what what my team and I are doing for North Point Online is modeled after great online cinema experiences like Hulu from both a technological-perspective and experiential.
Epix, though, is one step closer.
Besides being the best name ever, it’s a secret project that Paramount, Lionsgate, and MGM Studios have been collaborating on and I can’t wait to see it go-live. It’s in BETA, but I’m working my network to get a view.
Just take a look at the screenshots below and also the “social” features that could come into play as you watch the full-length HD movies:
The technology is available and we certainly do not lack the brain matter to create and craft amazing online video experiences for the Church, so why do most of our experiences sit on the other side of “excellence?”
Let’s give them something to remember.

This looks great! My wife and I have been seriously throwing around the idea of getting rid of cable. With all of the offerings that can be found online and with more and more networks integrating with Sony and Microsoft to deliver content through their consoles, what is the point of paying nearly $100 a month for cable television with probably 90% of the channels unwatched by my family?
BTW, what are you using at Northpoint.org to integrate those flash videos? I had my Pastor and his wife over last night and showed them a couple of those brief videos and explained how we could do something similar to enhance our church website and for very little money. I'd love to be able to integrate the videos like that without having to use a hosted service like Vimeo or Youtube.

We have a custom service that does that. It's not the best, but we're working out a “new” system.
For low budget, why not use Viimeo? paying 60 bucks a year (i do) for a pro service and disable branding and customize the player a tad… it's a great low cost alternative for hosting video.

Duh. I totally forgot about pro version of Vimeo! That will make it even easier.
