Apparently a poll was created recently that asked which of the following 3 web tools you checked first when you got up: Facebook, Twitter, and Email.
Here are the results:
- 58% email
- 20% search/portal
- 11% Facebook
- 5% News Site
- 3% Company website/intranet
- 3% other
Where do you sit? I definitely check email before anything else.
Another poll was taken as well about usage for the US consumer:

Blog reader first usually….
I use BoxCar to get my tweets & emails pushed to my iPhone, so if I’ve got a notification from either, that is where i head.

ooo, I think I should push, promote and offer better email subscriptions.
Although, with email subscriptions (to your blog), you have less people coming to you block – they don’t have to, only if they want to comment (or see the comments)
