Earlier today, I shared the HTML5 Canvas Tutorials. If you’re a beginner, then I highly recommend browsing through the examples and getting a good understanding of how it works.
But if you’re a more seasoned developer, you may be interested in Easel JS – a JavaScript library created specifically for working with the HTML5 canvas element.
As flexible as the canvas element really is, it isn’t aware of the elements that it is dispalying which ultimately leaves the developer responsible for managing all of the content rendered within its context.
Easel JS seeks to mitigate that by managing said resources for you. In addition, it also provides the ability to view the list of managed elements, a model for interacting with the canvas, and a few additional functions to make working with the canvas a bit easier.
The library was built by GSkinner and released under the MIT License so its free for use in almost any (both private and commercial) project.
