Mobile devices have a come along way in helping us get stuff done whenever we’re away from our desks and although I don’t think they are ever truly going to be able to help us get certain types of work done, that doesn’t stop vendors from creating utilities for all types of trades including web development.

The core features are nice and they are already preparing for a third version that will include JavaScript support.
On one hand, I dig the idea and think it’s really cool that applications such as this are starting to emerge. On the other hand, I often wonder how people use these things in practice.
So I thought I’d ask you guys: how do you use development-based mobile applications?

I always read articles on web development from mobile devices, but I could never figure out why someone would actually do it. Why sacrifice the flexibility and ease that comes with typing code on a full keyboard with the cramming of typing code like a text message? I think it’s cool that mobile technology is advancing where one can design full websites on phones, but I can’t see the practical side.

… to fix something that is critically broken and needs fixing in a shorter amount of time than it would take for me to get to my PC and wifi.
