I’ve always enjoyed digging into podcasts, videos, and articles where development teams talk about their process, relationships, and ultimate workflow in what they do.
As such, I’ve always been a fan of a lot of the stuff 37signals has published on their blog. As a team, we use some of their software and have attempted to model some of our core practices out of what they do.
In a recent interview, Ryan Singer talks a bit about the workflow of the designers and the developers and shares a little bit about their sources of inspiration.
Dig seeing this kind of stuff.
I’m curious – do any of you enjoy seeing any behind-the-scenes videos of development shops? Wondering if those kinds of posts would fly around here…
Ben says
I would totally dig some behind the scenes posts.

Sweet – we’ll see what we can do. Perhaps we’ll have a chance this week ;).

Its like watching the extra DVD content. You always want to see how it is made.

Great analogy. There is always more to the story in the ‘bonus’ footage – and getting to see/hear people express themselves is gold.
I.E. Jason Fried as a speaker vs. Jason Fried as an author. Passion and beliefs really come through “live” events even when he’s sharing the same thoughts.

Totally agree. Books and interviews are fine, but seeing video and hearing audio bring a little bit more to the table. Especially when it’s unedited.
