CreativeMYK, a creative community of designers and creatives, has been around for a while, and in less than 30 days they’ll be moving over to a new service, new name, and new brand: CreationSwap.
You can see the video of their new service here:
I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with and their new system! In fact, we might even be able to get a “sneak peek” if we can pull it off.
Stay tuned.
Finally, check out an interview Collide had about the new service here.

Prediction: Small churches with no budget will no longer benefit from CreationSwap because the most useful images will no longer be free.

I never participated in sharing my artwork for free on CreativeMYK, call it selfish but artists need to survive. I’m glad they’re adding this element. Honestly, I think it’s also smart they are giving artists a larger payout percentage as an incentive to continue to share work for free.

I agree that artists need to survive, and I’m among those who think it’s silly for for churches to expect a “holy discount” because we’re the church.
However, my favorite part of CreativeMYK was that it made a higher level of graphic design available to smaller churches, churches that are barely surviving themselves. I get the feeling that much of the artwork was generated in-house by paid staff members at larger churches, so we’re not taking bread off of anyone’s table and it helps bring another level of excellence to the kingdom. I will be sad if that goes away.
But, we don’t really know yet. I just hope CreationSwap is a huge a blessing to church plants / small churches as CreativeMYK has been.

Luke,
Well said. Hopefully the new site will find a good balance between the free and pay stuff (or at least provide affordable options for churches).

Bummer they are going commercial 🙁
