A lot of people talk about how you need to commit to your blog with goals and metrics and consistency… and all that is true; I’ve said it more than a few times and I’ll say it again.
But, those comments are in the context of a healthy-lifestyle that is balanced between your blog and pretty much everything else. So, at the end of the day, you can’t be too dogmatic about this principles because there are far more important things in life.
I’ve learned this recently as I’ve been simply unable to maintain my set goal and volume for posting on this blog and my other one; I simply do not have the time (nor the energy) recently to keep it up.
Thankfully, I’m not beating myself up about it, but I’ll be honest, my heart did sink for a second as I saw my traffic numbers dip significantly. Again, thankfully, my identity is not my blog.
Are you treating your blog like another marriage-deal? I hope not…!

I agree 100%! I took the entire summer off from blogging in order to focus on my family and some high-commitment projects here at the church … and I don't feel the least bit guilty about it. Then again, I'm not human3rror. 😉

whatever…i agree and most of my summer has been spent re-defining everything…we should start a facebook group about re-defining ourselves…that would be lame

Hey man… don't beat yourself up about it too much. I haven't blogged as much on mine recently either. "Life" has gotten in the way. I pretty much post when I have something significant I want to talk about. But other than that… I don't see a need to post everyday and all that. That goes to what you and I discussed months ago though. My niche is really "me" whereas your niche here on ChurchCrunch is definitely defined as technology in the church. Your insight on the subject is way more in depth than mine and I'm happy to search this blog whenever I have a question about something.
Don't let it consume you… but don't stop either. Good stuff 🙂
