While reasonable people can disagree about the best/fastest/easiest/coolest way to utilize online and mobile tech to increase church giving, one thing at least is certain:
More churches than ever are taking advantage of digital giving.
A recent study reported that 42% of all churches are now offering some form of digital giving. This is a long way short of where things should be, but it’s also a far cry better than the 14% that was reported in 2011.
And yes, while something is certainly better than nothing, there is also a big difference between having “some form” of online giving and having a solution optimized to engage with your members and increase your giving. Far too many churches seem content with a simple PayPal button or “Give Online” link on their site that redirects givers to a generic (and often cumbersome) web form. It’s something, but it’s a far cry from what online giving could be.
Online Giving Done Right
Mogiv, on the other hand, just may be the best giving solution you can find.
Mogiv’s multi-channel, cloud-based solution was built from the ground up with your church in mind. It is more than a donation tool. It is a full-service “generosity engine” that was built by church leaders for church leaders.
Here are a few of the tools they have in their belt:
- One-time and recurring giving to multiple funds within your church.
- Credit/debit card giving and ACH giving.
- A “give as a guest” option that allows attendees to give without an account.
- Text-to-give in any dollar amount.
- Mobile-responsive giving forms to integrate with apps or mobile browsers.
- Real-time, exportable reports that provide a detailed account of your giving.
- Auto-integration with Church Community Builder and Fellowship One.
But…if that doesn’t do it for you, let me tell you what I think truly sets Mogiv apart from the others.
Their customer service is top notch.
Just listen to what people are saying about Mogiv:
“What I value most about Mogiv is the personal attention you receive. Best customer service I have seen in a long time. It is very refreshing.” ~ Summer Johnson, Las Flores Church
“Awesome support team at Mogiv! I highly recommend this resource to churches and non-profits building digital giving.” ~ Jayson John, New Life Bible Church
“We were using Paypal. Mogiv has cheaper fees, more giving options, and WAY better customer service.” ~ Mark McDonald, City Church Cape Girardeau
I don’t have to tell you how sensitive people can get when their money is involved. This is why you need a giving partner who knows your church personally and is responsive to your needs. Not to mention the fact that dealing with tech can cause some major headaches. Having awesome customer service is so important! You can’t afford (literally!) to be sitting on hold or searching endlessly for the answers you need.
That’s what impressed me the most about the team at Mogiv. They aren’t content to be simply a tech provider trying to make a quick buck or build a big business. They take the time to get to know you and your congregation and are constantly looking for creative new ways to partner with your ministry.
Looking for a better way to give?
It’s time to lose those PayPal donation button, “Give Online” links, or those nasty redirects that take users away to another website. There’s a better way for church online giving.

Church in Fort Worth TX says
Thank you for this article, Can you tell me how to “Text-to-give”. A little more information would be great. Thanks again.

Hi, Church from Fort Worth TX! 🙂
Text to give is a great addition as long as you support the other ways people like to give – eg. online, mobile, kiosk.
That said, text to give is pretty straight forward … a member/giver would text an amount to a shortcode or 10 digit number that’s been designated to your church. When that text is sent the gift is made, as long as that member/giver has an account setup w/ their payment information stored. If they have not setup their account, they would be prompted to do so by receiving a text response back asking them to “setup their account” including a link that they’d click on that would then take them to a web form to capture their information (name, email, payment info, etc).
Hope that helps. We’d love to share more or answer any questions you might have.
