Chris Brogan announced this morning the release of 501 Mission Place, a closed community where individuals and businesses in the non-profit sector can collaborate, share, encourage, and equip each other.
Here’s the basis of their mission:
501 Mission Place is a community of Non-Profit Founders, Executive Directors and Chapter Directors that feel the same way.
A lot of what it takes to fulfill our missions can make us view things from a place of lack. Lack of funding, lack of time, lack of help, lack of knowledge, lack of the right connections – the list goes on.
The reality is that there is only abundance. In a community of peers and colleagues the right connection, the right answer or the right idea is just a conversation away.
This is a nice move from Chris considering he has a significant non-profit following and has the opportunity to connect many people together for greater synergy.
It’s not a free community; it’ll cost you $27 per month to join, but it might just be a better expense than all of those conferences you attend, depending on your situation.
Check it out!
Rob Hatch says
One of the primary motivations behind launching this community is the fact that being an Executive Director can be a very lonely job. You are serving your mission, your board, your staff, your volunteers, your donors, and potentially your clients. In all of that service, there is little opportunity for Executive Directors and other non-profit leaders to connect, to collaborate, reflect and share ideas with one another.
After only a week, there are already some very interesting and helpful conversations happening. I’m excited for what this will become, because it is the community that will shape it.
Thanks for mentioning 501 Mission Place and feel free to connect with me about any 501MP questions.
