Blogging can be a lot of fun and has the potential to make money. However, it also has the potential to do something else very exciting. We’ve seen organizations like Compassion International leverage blogging to increase awareness and raise funds to save children from extreme poverty.
Check-out this new, innovative way to cause positive change through social media with MADBlogs.
MAD Blogs
In the last couple of weeks, a new player in the blogging world has launched. They are called MAD Blogs (Make a Difference Blogs). What is different about MAD Blogs is that every blog started using their service, in fact every post on every blog, is helping to fight poverty. It doesn’t matter what the blog or post is about.
So how does it work? Is it actually for real?
MAD Blogs runs a WordPress based blogging platform, which is a great start. Anyone can sign up and get yourblog.madblogs.net. You can start a new blog or migrate your existing blog. MAD Blogs slips one advert per post into your posts, thus, creates revenue to fight poverty around the world. Every month, they run a fund-raiser where 100% of the ad revenue from all blogs is given to charity. For example, they are currently fund-raising with World Vision New Zealand for the Horn of Africa famine.
There’s a lot of potential here, and I find the concept pretty cool.
Now you have another way to blog for fun, profit, or change.
