Can you believe it?
I could hardly believe it myself.
When I first saw that BAND-AID had an iPhone app, I have to admit that I snickered a little.
What kind of lame app does BAND-AID have?
This kind:

I was shocked and impressed.
This is an amazing height of creativity. What an awesome way to bridge the gap between technology and bandages!
Plus, the app perpetuates the use of BAND-AID’s, as each time one is put to use, the kid has some fun. Not only that, but when your little one really takes a spill, those tears will dry up a lot faster when they have some iPad or iPhone action to look forward to.
I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT!
I wonder what kind of apps the Church could create that would push past the edges of sermons, devotionals and service times?

Any suggestions for a good resource or service that creates apps?

I just recently made my church’s app, and I had little to no knowledge of code. I’m a fairly good google-er though, and pretty proficient on Apple software. Xcode itself, the software used to make iOS apps, is actually fairly user friendly if you can get used to the interface. Most of the answers to my questions came from http://stackoverflow.com. Pretty good forum and tags for everything. Also, Apple’s documents break down things fairly well as well, and have lots of sample code.
There are a bunch of websites that will make apps for you for cheap or free, just be wary of terms and conditions about who owns what.

That’s encouraging to hear. If you have any code in you, crack open some Xcode! 😀
