Hanging out at Wordcamp Atlanta this weekend has reminded me of awesome it is to live in a time where self-publishing online content is both free and easy. Truly, anyone can blog.
But this is a good thing and a bad thing, because there are some people who (and we all know a couple examples) shouldn’t be allowed to blog, especially in our ministry sector and scope.
It’s either because they have no filters, they aren’t blogging with wisdom and discernment, they gossip, tear down others, share private information, use their blog as an opportunity to slander others (and their own ministries!), and just use it generally as a shouting post instead of a healthy dialogue and conversation.
Don’t be a monkey blogger or, well, that’s all you’ll be: A monkey. Congrats.

Hi John,
I agree with your point. Freedom of expression should not be used as a freedom to depress the other person. Like you said there are lot like them out there. Most of these Monkeys use free blogging platforms like WordPress.com and blogger.

I blogged something I shouldn't have once… got asked to take it down by my boss. In retrospect, I'm glad he got mad at me.
