We first capture this report here on ChurchCode but it was worth mentioning here since a lot of our readers are directly impacted (or will be) by this neat new service offering by Amazon.
Essentially Amazon S3 allows hosting of static websites completely since it was hard to configure an Amazon S3 bucket as a website. But, with these new features, Amazon S3 now provides a simple and inexpensive way to host your website in one place. To get started, open the Amazon S3 Management Console, and follow these simple steps:
- Right-click on your Amazon S3 bucket and open the Properties pane
- Configure your root and error documents in the Website tab
- Click Save
Done!
For more information on hosting your static website on Amazon S3, review the Amazon S3 Developer Guide.
