What do you think of when someone talks about a programmer?
Pocket protectors and thick glasses are usually the first thoughts that come to mind.
Thankfully, these unfavorable stereotypes are fading away, as being a geek has transition from being “out” to “in”, as technology has begun to dominate our world.
Tom recently shared a post by Alan Johnson over on Think Vitamin, answering the question, “What makes a great programmer?”
- People first.
- Appetite for learning.
- Skillful at problem pattern matching.
- A little insane.
- Persistent.
Alan goes over each of these in detail, what a great read and find!
I think these points not only make a great programmer, but a great employee, team member, artist, leader, etc …
