With the boom of Kindles, iPads and the likes, book publishers are scrambling to keep-up with the times. They desperately are trying to keep in step with these technological changes while retaining their profits. Book publishing is changing.
Meanwhile, authors are scrambling. Their scrambling has more to do with excitement than fear, since their hopes and dreams have moved profoundly closer. A writer longs for one thing: To be read. Now with ePublishing, the cost of getting a book into the public is far easier and cost effective than ever before.
So, you’ve published an eBook. Now, what? How do you get noticed?
Give your book away.
That’s what Jeff Fulmer is doing.
An inspiration to all of us who’s got a novel brewing in us.
He wrote a book titled, “Hometown Prophet“.
This is what it’s about:
Following a spiritual experience, Peter Quill has dreams with cryptic messages concerning his pastor, as well as a Christian pop star. Correctly predicting a major event in front of his church in Nashville causes him to be heralded as a modern day prophet.
The media and the faithful follow the prophet as he goes on to predict an environmental disaster and an arson fire at a local mosque. When Peter becomes convinced he’s not only supposed to draw attention to the prophecies, but also help the victims, he draws his share of detractors.
The attacks against him become more personal as his prophecies continue to challenge the biases of some in the community. Tested by fire, Peter must step out in faith in order to discover what it means to truly be a prophet of God.
Obviously, Jeff would like to make a few bucks, but mostly he wants you to read his story.
So, from now until the end of June, you can download his piece of work for free. All we ask is that you simply Tweet this post, and if you like his book, tell your friends about it (or even buy a copy!).

There is definitely something to be said about giving your work away for free. I’m currently doing that, in my own small way on the blog I set up this year.

How is that going?
Neil @ Looking Towards Home says
Hi Eric,
I think it’s going really well!
In the first seven months, http://www.LookingTowardsHome.com has had ~7000 page views, ~5000 unique page views and some great comments from readers
AND I’m really enjoying it. I like the technical side of learning something new, getting into contact with some really great people, discovering a lot of other great writers that exist on the interwebs and am doing something positive to spread God’s message of love.
How are your projects going this year?
– Neil

Good, and maybe better!
The more you do this stuff, the easy it gets and the more creative you can become.
