I received a neat video in an email from @TimAbare and I actually found it to be engaging and worthwhile. It was short (less than 2 minutes) and was very “to the point”.
Thoughts? With video capture and send capabilities on mobile devices now this is easier than ever.

I think this just makes it even more personal.
Obviously it depends on the person sending the vemail (is that a word?) but I think I am going to give this a shot.

i think it’s just vmail or v-mail

personally i’m not a fan. i think it can be abused and also bulk up your inbox storage. i’d rather be sent a link to where i can view online if i want. my two cents.

I think this is brilliant!
I really love the idea and think i could put it to great use here.
With the Target Audience being 15-25 year olds, i think this woiuld be far more engaging than a standard copy based newsletter email.
My worry is the dreaded “auto-play”! I think too many people will start to implement an autoplay feature and cant you imagine the amount of swearing in large offices that this will cause!

Just noticed from the image that it was sent as an attachment – is there scope for this to stream videos – i.e. embed YouTube /Vimeo vids in to emails?
John Saddington says
eh. not sure…?
Trevor Taylor says
Wow. Yes. Especially in a culture that thinks with there eyes.

I think it is getting more realistic.
My only case against it is that it will be less concise and you are bound to the speed of the video – unless you can speed lip read 😉

I received an email, after sending an email to a person who has branded himself (so he’s all about networking and being personal), and it was a video saying how he gets tons of email, and that he reads them all, but doesn’t have time to respond to them all. I have never felt so content with someone not responding to my request. It felt so personal to me, even though I know it was an auto responder and pre-made for everyone….I just found it interesting.
