Any other comic book geeks out there?
Raise your hand and own it.
It seems with the box office, that it has become cool, hip, or at least fun to be a comic book nerd with Batman, Spiderman, Avengers, Iron Man, Hulk, and many others already out or coming to the big screen soon. It’s a multi-billion dollar field right now.
But what if Iron Man were actually real?
Would Tony Stark have to be uber-loaded to afford everything that he has used in the movies … more than he is portrayed to have?
The infographic below gives a breakdown of the real-world costs of all of his tech gadgets.
The total cost of all of his fun toys: $1.612 billion!

Which Avenger (solely those present in the movies) would you be if you could pick?

Frankly, out of the Avengers, no one beats Tony. Outside the avengers, it’d have to be Batman (the only other “real” super hero).
I saw an image earlier this year which stated simply that money is the best superpower. http://weknowmemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/money-best-superpower-ever.jpg

Bah, whatever. Tony may be a genius billionaire philanthropist (or whatever) but Cap totally takes him in a fight. Tony is too impulsive.
And didn’t Captain America and Batman fight each other to a stalemate in a cross over? I remember each of them recognizing that each was such a still tactician that they just kept parrying and countering.
Jonathan says
er, skilled, not “still”. >_<
Darryl Schoeman says
My first thought was to say Cap too (you know the whole everything rises and falls on leadership thing). But the reality for most people is that we all KNOW we must be like Cap, yet secretly desire to be as impulsive (and able) as Tony. Batman takes the crown though because of his intelligence. He’s not just a gun-slinging order following hotshot. He’s got a brain to go with it too 😉

Several times we see Ironman win out against other Avengers, I do not think it is that clear cut. They all have weaknesses which is the point.

Your link made me LOL!

I think that every top-level of the Avengers (Hulk, Thor, Ironman, Captain) all have their own attributes that can allow them to beat the other as well as be beaten if giving the right circumstances. That is what makes it so great!
Jonathan Assink says
$500m for a suit? That sounds about right. Wouldn’t be shocked to see it cost upwards of $1 billion in real life though (if you’re including cost of developing the tech).
Cap is still the greatest Avenger though.
Jeremy Smith says
I guess we assume Tony works for free?
Jonathan Assink says
Well, who’s he gonna bill for his hours? Nick Fury? =)
Jeremy Smith says
Ha! “The good that he does is all he needs paid.” That, and full marketing that Tony is Ironman to feed his ego.
Bryan Chalker says
The bottom line…$1.612 billion…money well spent!
Jeremy Smith says
Agreed!

the demo version cost nothing, he got the parts for free, plus room and board!
