As many of you will know, I am particularly interested in eBooks, especially since switching most of my book buying to Kindle recently. I have especially been keeping a close eye on sales figures and new products.
Although this video is quite a few months old, I think that Kevin Rose (founder of Digg) has some really great thoughts on how eBooks can be made to be more awesome in this evermore digital world that we live in.
I think that when it comes to eBook software, companies, and I think Amazon especially, still clearly have a long way to go in creating an awesome user experience and bringing the functionality to a whole new level.
What did make me smile whilst watching Kevin speak is that YouVersion came to mind quite a lot in the way that they are trying to make reading the bible using mobile devices as awesome and social as possible. This is what I also love about the community that we have here at 8bit. There are some people around really pushing the boundaries in their fields for the kingdom and I love that.
So eBooks – what features has Kevin missed? What functionality would you like to start seeing within eBook software? Also, how likely do you think it is that we will actually start seeing cool new functionality built into software like Amazon Kindle?
