The team is now making a move to 37signals’s Campfire chatting application and we’re looking into desktop and mobile apps to complement.
Tonight I was testing out the free app from 37signals themselves and it’s not too bad.
Have you used Campfire? What are your thoughts about using it collaboratively?
Campfire isn’t a perfect app but it might just do what we need it to do.
Colin Harman says
I really like it. I use Propane (http://propaneapp.com/) as a chat client on the mac. It makes it a delight to work with. Highly recommend.
John Saddington says
dude, totally. i use that app!
Scott Magdalein says
We used to use Campfire, but it was a little too chaotic and difficult to have a cohesive conversation. We decided that we needed something with threaded conversations so one person could comment within the context of a separate thought. So, we use Wave. Crappy mobile implementation through a third party web app, but since we’re mostly in the office, it works for us perfectly.
John Saddington says
huh. will think about that.

I hate that the promise of Wave was never fully realized because of logistics, and not technology.
