Pubit, by Barnes and Noble, is now making it easy to upload, publish, and sell your eBooks through their channels.
Apparently it’s that easy. I’m not an expert (unlike this guy) so I’m not sure if this is the best thing to be doing, but it’s another option among many.
Thoughts?

Cool…I know some people that will like this…

I passed this info along to a professor at my school who has an E-book, but it’s not published really. Awesome stuff Barnes and Nobel is doing for people that want to write their own stuff!

It’s a cool idea if there is a way to get focus on your ebook. If it is added to a directory flooded with other ebooks, you’re not likely to make any sweet moula.

I am a huge fan of ebooks. I am currently experimenting with helping two self published authors friends edited their books to make them into ebooks. Both published them in paper first and are now trying to get into ebooks because people are asking for ebooks (now 9% of the book market).
Amazon, smashwords, and others all do essentially the same thing. You upload your book to their directory of books and they sell it and give you a cut.
Amazon is by far the largest ebook seller, so I would put my book there first. But no reason not to reformat and put it in other stores as well. I have heard some complaints about the Pubit process, but my guess is that will get worked out soon.

That does make sense (making this comment with my Amazon Kindle sitting beside my keyboard).
