ChurchMag loves WP Engine.
After a number of poor experiences with other web hosts, switching to WP Engine was the best decision we could have ever made. Finally, WordPress began to behave like it was suppose to!
I remember having to always check to see how many posts had mis-fired and having to reschedule them. With WP Engine, I don’t have to do that. I can schedule my weekend blog posts and never worry about them not firing. Here are a few other things I don’t have to worry about since moving to WP Engine:
- My server crashing because of traffic spikes.
- Not having a backup of my website when updating WordPress or plugins.
- Updating WordPress—yeah, it’s automatic.
- My website getting hacked—these dudes have the tightest of security.
- CDN—my plan includes CDN, no configuration required. It just works.
- Cacheing configurations—everything is streamlined for WordPress. Plain and simple.
WP Engine is also fast. Really fast. That also means everything loads right. You can even see by my Jetpack stats when I made the switch:
Did I have a huge jump in traffic?
Nope.
It just started tracking like it was suppose to. Finally, I could look at my WordPress dashboard stats and know they were accurate (compared to Google Analytics).
I could go on and on about these guys. The customer support, uptime and the fact that they are a service that is getting better and better all the time.

Thanks for the review! I’m looking at using WP Engine for a work project so glad to know they’re on top of things.
I’ve also considered moving a few clients over there but it’s a pretty big jump in cost compared to what I’m paying elsewhere for shared hosting. Their sites aren’t heavy hitters so shared hosting is a nice fit for them.
I’ve also considered Media Temple for their shared hosting plans but I’m a little leery now that GoDaddy has purchased them.

I too am leery. I’ve starting thinking about what it would take to migrate all my sites sitting on my Media Temple DV to WP Engine and if it would fit under my current plan.

I currently use Media Temple for my clients on a DV plan. I am waiting to see what happens. I am hoping I don’t any changes.

I too am keeping a close eye on Media Temple. Not real happy with the GoDaddy buy.

I’m a big fan of WP Engine. My favorite feature is the one click staging, but what really sets them apart is their excellent customer service. They will also get multisite configured for you even after building out a single install. Be warned though, I’ve had clients confused by the integration between mywpengine and their WordPress dashboard.

Yes! I should have mentioned the staging. This is a great way to build-out a new theme or test plugins before placing them into the wild.
