Personal Web Technology Goals for 2010?

So what are they?

What are some of your personal web technology goals for 2010? Are you going to be diving into more design this year? More development? Are you going to learn something new in particular?

Love to hear it.

For me, one of my personal goals for 2010 is expansion of a number of significant properties. I’m so excited I can barely contain myself. I’m spending a ton of time on branding, positioning, and the like, which hasn’t been a very big concern for me (but now it is).

I am going to tackle photography. Really just learning my camera and the settings and then take good pics.
That probably will not last very long though and will move onto wishing I could design WP themes and will read some on that then get frustrated and move onto more design work for logos/graphics for some friends.
Sounds like a busy year for me

stay positive bro! ;) photography would be neat… i'd love to become better at that… in another life though probably.

        You are right,
I think what really frustrates me the most is that I have a hard time nailing anything down. I feel like all my interest vary so much that I cannot just stick with one thing. That is where I get frustrated.
But photog is a new hobby that I am interested in doing. At least learning more about the camera then anything.
We will see, I could be saying all this stuff and actually stick with something and come back to this in a year and just laugh because things were completely different. Maybe that "another life" will be 2010

Main goal: Convince my church that we need a digital communications director.

Secondary goal: Become the digital communications director.

That may sound a bit more pompous than I think of it as….but hey, goals are goals. We're in a position that we really need something like this to take us through our next phase of growth, and I'm of the mindset that the best person to fill a void is the one who notices it and is bothered by it.

That is going to involve learning more design & development and other new techniques and tactics. Things I should (and will hopefully) teach myself anyway as the year progresses. I'd really like to build a team that would do all of this from our church…certainly we've got the skills floating around.

      wow, that would be great!

becoming the digi com pastor would be hotness. does the rest of the staff know?

      :)

To say that there are many steps before reaching these goals would be a bit of an understatement ;)

That's a thinly veiled "nope," but that's why it's a goal and not a reality yet. Thanks for the encouragement, btw.

Man – I am excited beyond believe, I set out my goals for 2010(http://synapticlight.com/blogging-goals-for-2010/… and have fulfilled a few already!!
For me 2010 is going to be a huge learning curve year for me as I get into the engine room of blogging.
My passion has always been video and will remain so, but I will work harder at cementing relationships in that area through the social media mechanisms I already use.
    Big stuff coming up dude.

    Three things..
    1. Learn a new programming language (that also offers a couple of web development frameworks)
    2. Continue the blogging thing (though I need to overhaul the current theme).
    3. Off an on, I've been building sites and small client-side apps for people on the side. I'd like to turn this into more of a permanent side-job.

Oh and I'll probably be guest posting on at least one of the 8bit sites regularly. You know how it goes ;) .
