One of the apps featured in the iPhone 4S unveiling presentation on October 14 was the Cards App. The basic concept behind this app is that you can take a feature with the new upgraded camera, customize it however you want into a card, and then be able to send it to whatever address you want from the iPhone for just $2.99.
There are a lot of great features with this app, including:
- Choose from 21 designs for six occasions: Thank You, Holiday, New Baby, Birthday, Love, and Travel.
- U.S. customers can send a card within the U.S. for $2.99 including postage or anywhere else in the world for $4.99 including postage.
- To place your order, simply enter your Apple ID password.
- On the day your card is to be delivered, you’ll receive a notification on your iPhone or iPod touch.
Yet, the greatness of this app is not in the fact that you can deliver mail via your iPhone. It is one thing for us to say Happy Birthday via text message or post pictures of a senior graduation on Facebook. But what if you took their picture two days before their birthday, designed this card and mailed it to them or took a picture of the group at summer camp on the first night and had it to the parents before you even returned home?
There is something amazing about receiving a personalized physical card that warms the heart and the availability to send it whenever you want is great.
What other creative events could you use this in your ministry?

This looks like a great idea. I also recently got the SnapShot Postcard app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/snapshot-postcard/id293657764?mt=8
which can do a postcard for 1.99.
Have not tried either yet, but I like the ministry use idea. Thanks.
