Macquarium – Apple G3 iMac’s Converted Into Fish Tanks

I want it.

This is a Macquarium. It is an Apple G3 iMac that has been converted into a 3.5 gallon fish tank. This isn’t a prototype or a mock-up, either. You can order one for yourself, or if you have an old Apple G3 iMac lying around, you can purchase kits, too!

If you decide to order a Macquarium, they’re ready to use right out of the box – just add water!

The aquarium has a built in filter and light which can be turned on and off. The case easily opens for daily feeding and for access to the inside. The 3.5 gallon tank makes a perfect home for many kinds of small tropical fish.  Each case is buffed and polished until it looks as shiny and new as possible.

Fish tank features include:

  • Each Macquarium has a custom designed fish tank mounted inside.
  • Tank design is manufactured for consistency and quality.
  • The face of the tank is curved to fit where the CRT screen used to be.
  • The tank holds approximately 3.5 gallons of water.
  • All tanks are tested to be sure there are no leaks.
  • A Whisper 3i In-Tank filter is built-in.  This is a common filter so replacement filter cartridges are easy to find.
  • The light and the filter are wired into one 6 ft. power cord which exits through the original power cord hole on the back of the case.
  • There is a switch on the back to turn the light on and off.
  • All electrical components have been protected to resist water contact.
  • The front bezel simply tilts open to uncover feeding holes.
  • The colored part of the case lifts off for access to the inside.
  • There is room inside to store fish food and other aquarium supplies.
  • A variety of colors are available.  Each Macquarium is built to order.
  • Each case is polished to be as shiny and new looking as possible.
  • Simple setup instructions are included.
  • All unused components of the iMac are re-recycled.

This dude is serious.

Then again, these are some seriously cool fish tanks!

If you have an old Apple G3 iMac, you can even purchase a kit to convert your own.

Very cool.

To get your own made-to-order Macquarium will cost you $199 plus shipping and the kits to convert your own run $135 plus shipping. Visit the Macquarium website to place an order or learn more!
