Google+ Traffic Increases – Are You Surprised?

Believe it or not, Google+ Plus has shown some decent gains, especially from November 2011 to December 2011.

Are you surprised?

Google+ total US visits reach more than 49 million in Dec-11, biggest month to date & up 55% compared to Nov-11 http://t.co/KuLRMmeW

With Google+ Plus reaching more than 49 million in the US in December of 2011, it makes it the biggest month to date, a whole 55% more compared to November 2011.

A 55% jump in only one month?

Maybe Google+ Plus does stand a chance.

What do you think?

I think it is a contender. They just need to release that api thingy so I can add them to my social widget.

Not surprised. Google+ has continued to improve from its initial launch.

Dude. It really has, with continued integration with other Google services we’re all already tied into.

Seriously, Google+ is way better than Facebook, but at the moment it’s mostly confined to geeks, and most of my close friends are not geeks.

I personally like Google+ much more than Facebook. I hope it really catches on. Love the way it’s all integrated with other Google loveliness

I know what you mean. Plus, Facebook is getting REALLY messy.

I like Google+ interface better than Facebook. I think of Google+ as my current social network, not cluttered with all my high school friends who I don’t talk to anymore. I’ll probably start +1 my site to see if that helps with some traffic.

I wonder how many of those users were forced to sign up just for a Christmas Google Hangout chat. I personally added 3 to the stat for that very reason. It’s unlikely that any of them will become active users so I wonder if December created a false-positive.

Why would you assume they won’t become active users?

In my case I signed up my mother-in-law (who uses Facebook to stalk people… not many people to Google+ stalk yet), my wife (who doesn’t even check her Facebook account), and my wife’s Grandfather (I had to install Logmein to remote control his computer to walk him through the process). We wanted to chat over Christmas and signed them up since Skype is now charging for group chat.

I see Google Hangouts as the only reason my family will use the service, especially since it is one of the best alternatives to Skype. Google+ doesn’t bring enough new features to the table to convince average users that it’s not just a Facebook clone.

I can understand that in your situation. Most users are too intimidated by new technology/web-stuff to dive in and actually see the new features that are brought to the table. Because they’re so used to what they currently do, it’s hard to see beyond that.

In time, everyone’s eyes will be opened to just how much more Google+ brings to the table.

The only thing that surprises me is that I didn’t learn about this before you did! Lol Thanks Eric!

They’re basically forcing it on people w/the way they’re integrating it into search.
