This video produced for Google Glass by University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts really got me thinking about the applicability of Google Glass.
For the most part, I’m not sold on Google Glass. There seems to be a lot of downfalls with it and I just don’t think it will make the lasting technological impact that tablets and smartphones have made.
Does Google Glass really have a future?
While this video is pure marketing gold and will grab your emotions, the perspective of the video is very intriguing to me. Here it is, recorded entirely using Google Glass:

Touching video, right?
Can you imagine what this looked like to shoot this video compared to a smartphone?
We talk and criticize how people always have their faces in their screens and how foolish groups of people look like when they all have their smartphones whipped out recording the same event. All those negative visusals would be quickly washed away if everyone was wearing Google Glass. You could record video and take pictures while seeing it through your own eyes, and not through a little screen on your smartphone.
I still think Google Glass has a lot of hurdles left to cross before we can consider it here to stay, but this video certainly has persuaded me think it’s got a fighting chance.
