Ever since I joined the technical team in my church back in 2009, my first task was to teach myself Easyworship.
It wasn’t rocket science to learn, however I did wish I had a resource on the basics of visual worship.
( A Must read for any church starting off in visual worship ,The Visual Worship Handbook)
That was then. Fast forward to 2014, I have trained volunteers as well as set churches up to use Easyworship.
Why I Love Easyworship
The reason I use Easyworship is that is does what I need it to do, and it does that pretty well.
I’m sure it could be upgraded with more features that would make it an equal rival to Pro presenter, however I doubt it was designed to be on the same level as Pro Presenter.
I have stuck with Easyworship for 5 years now, the fact that I can train a volunteer on how to use it in less than 15 minutes is awesome.
Some months back I managed to train a young volunteer by the name of Kim, I taught her the basics and in a month she mastered it. Kim is only 15 years old!
The point that I am trying to make is that Easyworship stands by its name, EASY!
Any church that wants to start off using presentation software to enhance their worship experience should consider trying out Easyworship.
Advantages:
- Easy to learn and train other volunteers.
- Has the ability to overlay text over video.
- Has full web and audio integration.
- Create clean, media-rich presentations in minutes.
I’ll be creating some video tutorials real soon so watch this space.
I would only reconsider using Easyworship in more complex setup that would require the vast features of Pro Presenter.

We use EasyWorship, and I agree, it’s pretty easy. My only complaint is that it’s not super-friendly with all video codecs. You have to download the K-Lite codec tool, and even then, it’s not always a guarantee.

We’ve been using EasySlides, mainly because it was free and worked for us. I’ve been wanting to move us to EasyWorship once the new version comes out. I’ve been watching their forums for updates and it looks like a new version will be coming out soon. Looking forward to it!

I’m just glad to get my clients off powerpoint. I am suggesting Proclaim due to many features, but I haven’t tried Easy Worship. My home church uses ProPresenter, but it’s a larger church. I’m just glad most churches are using Church Presentation Software.

Hey Chandos, well I can agree on the codecs being a major issue. Hope they sort it out in the next version of Easyworship.
Sup Chris? I will definitely check out Easyslides out!
Hi Chip. My biggest goal in South Africa right now is to get most churches off MS PowerPoint, Never tried Proclaim before, but I will add that to my list of presentation software.

Hi Pregan, there are loads of free software out there to try out before going for a paid one. For starters, I would suggest a simple program like OpenSong.
If you want all kinds of bells and whistles, give VideoPsalm a shot.

At one time, I’d tried them all. I settled on Easy Worship, but then we transitioned to another piece of software (against my recommendation) which was horrible. Now we’re using ProPresenter 5 and it’s so much better than anything I’ve ever used before. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth the price. I recommend it to everyone.

I remember using easy worship at one point but I either didn’t like it or funding to pay for it was an issue.
The church I’m at is now moving away from PowerPoint to using Open LP which is open sauce and free.
The best part about Open LP is that it lets speakers still create presentations in PowerPoint and then I can Import the PowerPoint into Open LP.
Every bit of other content – announcements, songs,…etc can be created easily in a few minutes.
At the moment OpenLP dose what we need it to do – if we need anything more complex I’d be recommending ProPresenter 5 just because in my opinion it would scale better later down the line. If ProPresenter 4 was the latest version it would be a different story though – I probably would have recommend Easy Worship over ProPresenter 4.

This is not the place to ask these sort of questions you would have much better luck over at the Easy worship forms or make a support request on the easy worship website “http://www.easyworship.com/support”. Or you could try your asking on the Church Media Community forms at “http://www.churchmedia.net/forums/” for assistance.
In any case their a several reasons that case the problem you having. The most common one I’ve read about is that your “Data Execution Prevention” settings may not be set properly.
To solve this I’d suggest:
1) Right click your my computer icon (in windows 8 and up this is called My PC)
2) Then go to properties in the right click menu.
3) Click advanced system settings in the window that pops up
4)then under the advanced tab go to system properties. Once there on the advanced tab under performance, click settings
5)then go to the data execution prevention tab and add the Easy Worship to the exception list.
