This is really cool.
I ran into a woman who was a part of this new online MMORPG game, YaHero, at the Orange Conference and I was instantly pulled in.
Here’s what YaHero is all about:
Welcome to YAHERO! As a member you’ll enjoy special benefits including a new and exciting quest each month, an ever-growing interactive world to explore with your friends, and a never ending opportunity to earn incredible prizes with your mad skills.
YAHERO is the only massive multiplayer online game (MMOG) that is Bible based and supportive of a Christian world view. And, unlike other religious sites for kids, we do not promote a particular denominational viewpoint. We are solely committed to inspiring a love for Scripture and instilling a high level of biblical literacy.
Check out this video about it:
This game looks pretty inviting and is definitely playing off of such child successes like Yugi-Oh and Pokemon:
Is this something you’d have your kids try out? What do you feel, in general, about the “success” of online video games with a Christian perspective?
James Finley says
This looks awesome for young kids, but I wanna see something like Halo for young adults/adults that want something a little more epic and manly. Angel Wars (first person fighting) or the Battles of David (real-time strategy)?
John Saddington says
that would be amazing.
marcus says
i just like how she says “aboooot”
John Saddington says
PUAHA.
It Isn't Hating, More Like Constructive Criticism says
First of all all the weird organisms in this game aren’t in the Bible. The trailer doesn’t talk about God at all, and the graphics are pretty bad in the videos. I am a gamer, and trust me, nobody wants to play a game with bad graphics. I am also a Christian, so I like how you are trying to make a Biblical game. I don’t like Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, I like playing games that wouldn’t make someone question me being a Christian. I think that you should make 8-bit games (games that look like this http://images.nintendolife.com/screenshots/43914/large.jpg) everyone loves those. And you don’t have to worry about the graphics. And when you do it be sure to include dragons, The game should have God at the start, and tell the story of the beginning in the start as well. leviathans, and behemoths. Because these are all in the Bible, described with detail. As a fellow Christian I hope you are spread the word of God successfully!
