The Bible App Crosses 1 Billion Minutes

Congratulations to the YouVersion team for helping to bring more minutes of reading the Scriptures into people’s lives!

Yesterday, February 15, we just passed 1 billion minutes of engaging with Scripture using the Bible App™. While it took 46 days instead of the 31 we had hoped for, it’s still nothing short of extraordinary. Going all the way back to the Bible App’s launch in July 2008, this period represents the most people reading the most minutes in the shortest amount of time that we’ve ever seen. It’s reason to rejoice.

Nothing short of awesome. Way to go!

Sharif Arabic Bible Available on YouVersion

YouVersion now has a version completely in Arabic:

We’re excited to announce that the Sharif Arabic Bible (SAB) is now available for the Bible App and at YouVersion.com! The Sharif Bible is a complete translation of the Bible in Arabic.

Its translators gave special attention to making the truths of the Gospel accessible to Arab readers.

YouVersion: Missional Use of Resources

YouVersion has gotten tons of coverage recently and the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned! There’s a new article in USA Today citing some of the great happenings of late:

In an 11-day period in late December, a million people downloaded the app, which is available on iPhone, Blackberry, Android and other mobile phone platforms. Every 2.8 seconds, a new user installs the program and 12 people run it.

It ranked No. 7 in popularity last week among all 300,000 iPhone apps.

Bravo. I love how LifeChurch and the team around YouVersion are doing a great job of building such a robust and news-worthy app!
