Tweeting during a sermon is nothing new, nor is using your smartphone during the sermon (excellent post here). It’s been the center of debate plenty of times and continues to be a hot button in many Churches.
I believe the denomination, demographic and geography of your Church has a lot to do with the overall view of using your smartphone during Church and involving yourself in sermon tweets.
Tyndale’s recent survey on Church and Technology gives us some perspective on smartphones and tweeting during sermons.

As far as e-Bibles go, this is the most organic experience I’ve encountered in electronic form.
About ten years ago, I downloaded my first e-Bible called, e-Sword.
It was amazing.
You could search, take notes and read commentaries, all in one place. No more flipping through that huge concordance, and the software was free.
Good times.
Ten years later, e-Sword has been downloaded over 15 million times in 228 countries and has never been advertised. It supports 12 different selectable UI languages and continues to be downloaded, today.
I used e-Sword for years! It was the best thing since sliced bread.
Having a quick look around my house, I was rather surprised at the number of Bibles I have access to.
Within a couple of minutes I can physically lay my hands on an NIV, an NCV, an NLT, a KJV, a GNB and various Bible dictionaries, Bible Atlases, Bible “How’s whos” and concordances/commentaries (Mathew Henry ftw!).
