I was asked yesterday how many domains and sites that my church has. Honestly, I had no idea, so I had to ask my team.
I now wish I didn’t ask.

So, how many does NPM have?
human3rror says
We've got like 250+ domains and 50+ sites.
Wayne Cordova says
We have a few that we use depending on what is going on.
http://crosspointlive.com is our main domain.
We own http://ChristmasOffering.com for our Christmas Offering, then we have others:
we also own the .net & .org of our domain.
SmallGroups.Crosspointlive.com
CrosspointKickball.com
30daybiblechallenge.com
CrosspointIronmen.com
does Facebook and Twitter count? Because then it’d be http://facebook.com/CrosspointLive and http://twitter.com/CrosspointLive
whew…
Are domains good? or would subdomains be better? Or slashes?
Steven Rossi says
We don't have too many, really. We have 5 which all point to the same page (that is, 4 of them redirect). The 4 that redirect are sorta pointless — I doubt anyone ever types them in, and they of course don't show up in search engines.
human3rror says
or, at least, not yet… π
Steven Rossi says
If you're referring to the us not having too many, you're very right. Having finally convinced the powers that be that the Internet is a good place, I'm now terrified of the monster I created.
Steven Rossi says
Well in that case, we don't want those other ones to show up. They just redirect. I don't even know why we own them… Brand security, maybe? π

We have around 75 if you count all the TLDs (.com,.org, etc).

We have close to 30 domains and 8 sites. Just trimmed some domains out two weeks ago.
gabehoffman says
in terms of TLDs, it's like 150, how many do we use, maybe 25, but even that's too many, we're cutting back and simplifying down to maybe 5
Brian Minor says
I keep ours pretty simple. So we only have 3. I don't see us ever going any hire then 6 or 7.
Faye says
Wow. I feel woefully underdone! We have one. We have a couple subdomains, and a blogspot or two, fan page on Facebook, but that's it.
human3rror says
ah, one is a great place to start!
vince says
I wish I knew the answer to that.
Right now I buy at least one domain every week.
I have launched WordPressMU to put all the 'rogue sites' in one place
stephenbateman says
I'm hoping to keep it to 2 (.com and .org) w/ the .com being external and the .org being internal.
Then perhaps we'll use special promo domains in the future, but keep it to two primary ones.
WayneCordova says
We've got a few:
http://crosspointlive.com (and .net and .org)
http://ChristmasOffering.com
http://30dayBibleChallenge.com
and then a few subdomains and special blogs and such… I even have one for my Kickball Small Group.
do facebook and twitter count? If so then we have about 8 domains in all.
Do any of you have "special" email domains that aren't necessary public to the congregation? (You don't need to post them obviously)

I think we have 6-10. 2 being used.
A few of them can be made available if needed. I know that NPM would love to have norcrosschurch.com url for its Gwinnett Campus π This is where rumors start, right?
human3rror says
haha!… you're dangerous.
markalves says
We've got two — one for the church and one for the school (along with a subdomain for a special charity).
