Being a blogger, professional or personal, has to do with so much more than just putting your random thoughts or feelings onto a website. Honestly, that is the baseline purpose of social media networks. For those that have taken the plunge into blogging though, you are looking at organizing your content, creating great design, and figuring out how best to get your content in front of eyes of people that will care, engage, and act after reading your content.
Curious how to start learning to optimize your blog?
This infographic may be the best place to start looking.
Here are three tips I personally hold to with EVERY blog article I write:
- Sites with social media buttons generate 7x more mentions than those that don’t. It’s not distracting or shameless, it’s being proactive about content distribution. Make it that much easier for your readers to share!
- Optimize images for every post. You can go crazy done the rabbit hole for this, but having a properly labeled image, WordPress plugins for easy shareability, and media that improves your article is ALWAYS a plus.
- Call to actions should always be put at the end of EVERY blog post. (The only time I find it doesn’t help is for infographics like this where people read the infographic and move on). But do not put a 10 second push into a call to action, instead craft it because it could increase your engagement just by a single word you use.
