Well if this title doesn’t get your attention, I’m not sure what will.
“Mike Cosper, pastor of worship & arts at Sojourn Community Church, explains why the stories told in secular TV shows and movies should matter to believers.”
A great talk. Take the time to watch it:

Great quote:
“All human storytelling is wondering about how we got to where we are; and where we’re headed. I think the reason many of us tell stories of human brokenness is that we’re looking for the hope that can be found in Christ.”
I would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Simon L Smith says
Eric,
I agree wholeheartedly with his opinion of story. I find it interesting – fascinating even – that Jesus told so many non-religious/non-christian stories.
He didn’t use “religious stories” to teach us about religious things; God the Father, Himself, etc. He uses normal everyday stories.
The stories tell a bigger story.
And I love that he says we can use stories to learn about *other* people. I summarized it as movies are “social commentary” and we can – and should – use them to learn about others so that we can introduce them to our story.
